Spirit

This painting's symbolism centers around growth, challenges, and the cyclical nature of learning and self-discovery.

It's all about the life lessons that keep showing up, sometimes in messy, unexpected ways.

These lessons are symbolized as rose petals that fall from the rose that appears out of the larger head in the water—our higher selves, or "Spirit," if you will.

This blooming rose emerging from the third eye is a symbol of enlightenment and spiritual growth, it emphasizes that even in difficult times, there is beauty and wisdom to be found.

The smaller figure reaching for the rose petal represents the journey of the self. We have been through this before, looping back around in an endless dance of learning and relearning.

The reaching gesture shows an active engagement with these lessons, as if the figure is both aware of and seeking to understand and/or utilize them..

The three figures lurking in the background embody our inner demons, the ones that like to pop up when we least expect it

they represent past traumas, fears, or unresolved aspects of the psyche. Their presence in the background shows that while they may not always be in direct focus, they influence the foreground of our consciousness and our journey.

The whole setting is a swamp, representing the tangled and sometimes murky journey of growth. It suggests a sense of being mired in challenges, perhaps feeling stuck or overwhelmed at times, which is often how personal growth can feel.

The Fibonacci spiral is used in the composition, which felt fitting since life lessons often seem to spiral back in on themselves, teaching us something new each time.
